For Transfers : The bus will leave at 6:00am from the tourist bus bays on St Kilda rd opposite Hamer Hall and the State Theatre. 6:30am pick point at Mcdonalds Cnr Ballarat Rd &, Westwood Dr, Burnside VIC 3023.
Run start time: 8:00am start at Wombat Hill Lookout, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens, 21A Central Springs Rd, Daylesford VIC 3460.
Run location: Hepburn Regional Park
Run distances: 9km, 20km, 30km, 40km/1100m (approx 7 hours to complete) 
Arrive back in Melbourne: approx 7:00pm 
Fitness prerequisites: 9km- 7km under an hour in the past month, 20km- 15km in under 2 hours in the past month, 30km- half marathon in under 2 and a half hours in the past month, 40km- 30km run in under 5 hours in the past month. 
COVID requirements:

This tour is subject to meeting minimum numbers of x4 people. Please note that short course runners with bus transfers will have to wait for the full course to finish before returning to the city.

Come with us on a group trail running/hiking adventure through the Hepburn Regional Park on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. This megaloop circumnavigates the township of Daylesford. Hepburn Regional Park is a real treasure rich with picturesque waterfalls, spectacular views, natural springs and relics from the Gold Rush era.

Common birds to spot in the area include White-Browed Scrub Wrens, Grey Currawongs, Crimson Rosellas, White-Throated Tree-Creepers and Yellow Robins. The Rufous Fantail and Satin Flycatcher visit the gullies seasonally. Koalas and kangaroos are often sighted in the park while the rare Brush-Tailed Phascogale is a shy resident and seldom seen.

The trail is mainly hard packed water race single trails with a few management access tracks and 4wd tracks providing some sensational variety to take in the beautiful surrounding forests. This tour is jam packed with landmarks and attractions. The full 40km will take in Wombat Hill Botanical Garden, Hepburn Reservoir, Sulphur Spring, Locarno Spring, Goldfields Track, Jacksons Lookout, Sailors Falls, Tipperary Springs, Golden and Argyle Springs, Breakneck Gorge, The Blowhole, Mistletoe Minesite, Bryces Flat, Sailors Creek, Three Lost Children Walk and Jubilee Lake.

Our tour distance options include 9km, 20km, 30km point to point options with bus transfers returning you to the start points, or the full 40km 1100m elevation gain megaloop. You are more than welcome to adjust distances on the day. The are has a rich gold history and our tour will take in  Aid stations with water refills, cold coke, chips, watermelon and lollies will be available at the 9km, 20km and 30km points. Our start and finish point at Wombat Hill Botanical Garden is a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne, there are some beautiful accommodation options in Daylesford if you would like to make a weekend of it.

Our tour are suitable for all running abilities. We have runners of all abilities including first time trail runners to experienced multi day endurance runners. Most of our customers join our tours as singles and they always end up making new friends with the other runners. We run the flats and downs at your comfortable pace and where safe to do so. We usually hike the climbs at our own paces, although runners are welcome to run to the tops of the hills and wait for regroups or double back from the top to get some extra elevation gains.

For bus transfers the bus will leave at 6:00am from our pick up and drop off point from the tourist bus bays on St Kilda rd opposite Hamer Hall and the State Theatre.  Free weekend parking is available on Birdwood avenue around The Tan and along Sturt and Wells streets in Southbank. It is a 5 minute walk to the bus pick up point. We will stop for toilets, coffee and food on our way there.

We have a secondary pick up and drop off point 6:30am at Mcdonalds Cnr Ballarat Rd &, Westwood Dr, Burnside VIC 3023.

We strongly recommend having air ambulance cover for this run and all trail runs, due to costs and access difficulties in these remote and rugged locations.
