City Transfers:
5:15am from the tourist bus bays on St Kilda rd opposite Hamer Hall and the State Theatre.
5:25am from the Ampol Service Station, 286 Johnston St, Abbotsford VIC 3067
5:50am from Ringwood Station. In the parking bays opposite First Church Of Christ Scientist Ringwood 26 Station St, Ringwood VIC 3134.
6:10am from Dandenong Stadium 270 Stud Rd, Dandenong VIC 3175.
Run start time: 8:30am start at The Erica Reserve Picnic Pavillion, Station St, Erica VIC 3825.
Run location: Erica State Forest, Baw Baw National Park
Travel time: 2 and a half hours (with coffee and food stop)
Arrive back in Melbourne: 9:00pm
Run distance: 9km, 21km, 36km, 43km/1300m elevation. approx 7-1/2 to 8 hours.
Fitness pre-requisites: 9km: a 7km run in the past month
21km a 15km run in the past month
36km a 21km run in the past 2 months
43km a 30km run in the past 2 months

Come with us on a group trail running adventure on the lands of the Gunaikurnai People. Visit their website to learn about how they are working to protect their cultural heritage and the rich indigenous history of our Country.

Our Erica Megaloop will take you through Erica State Forest and Baw Baw National Park. Our run take us through the historic mining and logging areas on stunning, green immersive single trail, overgrown rail trials, river and creek crossings, steep climbs, switch backs, river lookouts, cascades. We will follow winding rivers between the rugged, carved, steep forested slopes. This tour has it all.

With breaks the full run should take approximately 7 1/2 to 8 hrs to complete. There is a lot to take in, you won’t regret it.

Post run we will be heading for dinner at the Erica Hotel before making our trip back the city.

What we cover:

What to bring:

  • Water containment for 1 litre or borrow ours
  • Good condition trail running shoes (aggressive/muddy)
  • Running sports wear to suit the weather (a weather update will be sent closer to the tour day)
  • Any emergency medications you may need
  • A change of clothes

9km, 22km, 36km, 43km 1300m circuit course.

(for shorter courses the bus will return you to our run meet up location, or you can ride with along with bus support).

The bus will leave at 5:15am from tourist bus bays on St Kilda rd opposite Hamer Hall and the State Theatre. Free weekend parking is available on Birdwood avenue around The Botanical Gardens and along Sturt and Wells streets in Southbank. It is a 5 minute walk to the bus pick up point. We will stop for toilets, coffee and food on our way there and back.

5:50am Ringwood Station, the Station St side. In the parking bays opposite First Church Of Christ Scientist Ringwood 26 Station St, Ringwood VIC 3134.

6:10am from Dandenong Stadium, 270 Stud Rd, Dandenong VIC 3175.

 8:30am run start at The Erica Reserve Picnic Pavillion, Station St, Erica VIC 3825. Public toilets are located here.

We recommend having air ambulance cover for this run and all trail runs, due to costs and difficult of access in the remote terrains.
